Since it's official release on Friday evening, news of RISC OS SIX Preview has been posted on www.osnews.com.

Note: Since publishing this article, RISC OS has had another bit of publicity on OSNews (in the form of a review of the A9Home), again with interested parties from outside the RISC OS community commenting positively.

A venue in Livingston has now been booked for Microdigital to demonstrate their Omega computer and to answer our questions, on Saturday, 7th September 2002. The following place may unfortunately not be ideal for everyone but we were booking at short notice, so apologies all round if this is the case (but please see the end of the message).

The venue is:

Deans Community High School
Eastwood Park
Livingston
West Lothian
EH54 8PS

Tel: 01506 497090

A better map is here

Livingston North Railway Station is close by and this can be reached from Edinburgh Waverley or Haymarket (about 10 mins walk?).

Unlike some RISC OS mags out there with strange unaccountable delays, dubious changes of editor and other fun excuses, RiscWorld seems to be going from strength to strength with the launch of Vol. 3 of the CD based mag...

This very morning a straining postman collected all the copies of RISC World for delivery to all our eager readers. So in the next few days a shiny CD containing the latest issue will be dropping through doormats all over the world. For those that don't know RISC World is the subscription only CD based magazine for users of RISC OS computers published by APDL.

This issue sees a number of exclusives, including Dave Holden's visit to MicroDigital to see a working Omega computer. We also have our Wakefield show report and reviews of Crystal, the first Select CD and of course, TEK.

RComp are pleased to announce that our 100Mbit network cards began shipping today (Saturday). These new cards are the result of a partnership in the RISC OS market ensuring the production of high performance, yet cost effective hardware.

The new cards set standards in price, performance and features. Fitting into the network slot present in all RiscPC/A7000 systems (no backplanes etc. required), the performance of the card is only limited (on current machines) by the speed at which the processesor can handle network packets, when used on a 100Mbit network.
