Chris Johnson has produced a brand new application, Text > Draw, here's Chris' USENET announcement: "Diagrams produced in Draw often need to be annotated using standard draw text objects. However, a draw text object can have only one text style. When annotating technical or scientific diagrams, for example, it is often necessary to include subscripts, superscripts, greek
characters, mixed styles such as italic and normal, etc. Thus, to enter an equation or a chemical formula would involve the entry of a number of separate text objects as small as single characters, with subsequent careful grouping and alignment to construct the complete equation.

Text>Draw is an application to ease the production of such text objects. Text can be produced containing multilevel super- and sub-scripts, greek or other symbols, changes of font face (bold, italic, bold-italic), in an essentially WYSIWYG editor. The script text can be different in size to the base text. The resultant composite text object can be saved into Draw or any similar application.

Text>Draw can be downloaded from: http://www.chris-johnson.org.uk/software/tdraw.html [4] or http://www.chrisjohnson.plus.com/software/tdraw.html [5]

Comprehensive help in HTML format is provided. The latest version is 1.20, which is a complete rewrite (including a change from ABC compiled Basic to C). The earlier non-toolbox version (1.12) is still available.
