The mercurial John Cartmell has emailed this to me...

Acorn Publisher has long been considered one of the best magazines in the Acorn / RISC OS [4] market. One of its few failings has been the lack of a complementary web-site. We're putting right that deficiency. See:

The new Acorn Publisher website [5]

Note Acorn Publisher is not a magazine solely for publishers; it's a magazine for all Acorn/RISC OS users.
The new site will be in two parts:

  1. The first focusses on the magazine itself (eg contents pages of past magazines, details of contributor) together with useful links for RISC
    OS people;

  2. An online magazine, (AP On-line) extending the range of Acorn Publisher.

So far we have produced the skeleton pages for the first part of our web site. It's a trial site and criticisms and comments are welcome - the e-mail address is given below. Providing the current pages meet the demands of a range of browsers (both IT meanings!) we will add to the first part of our site and (eventually) include details of all recent Acorn Publisher magazines together with extracts from past issues.

With your support (please!) we will also add details to the User Groups and Diary Dates pages. We will not be copying these details from other sites (too many appear to be out of date) so we need group members (you?) to send details to us - please don't assume that someone else will do it!

Send details (see the Acorn Publisher site for how we've set out the information) of currently active groups and dates of meetings/events to:

AcornPublisher [6]

If you're certain (check!) that your web-site is up to date then just send an e-mail giving the URL of the page. Extracts from the web site will be printed in each issue of Acorn Publisher magazine.

The online magazine, AP On-line, will be launched later in the year but the Acorn Publisher site already includes (provisional) details of its contents. Links to news and discussion areas will be added soon in an area very close to where you are right now.

Together the printed magazine and its complementary web-sites will cover the whole range of RISC OS [7] interests.

The site includes information about subscribing to Acorn Publisher magazine and purchasing back issues. Online purchase of subscriptions will be available in the near future.

If you live in the North-West you may be interested in going to the RONWUG [8] meeting on Wednesday 18th September for more information about the development of the Acorn Publisher web-site. Other groups note that I'll be available to speak at their group meetings (about Acorn Publisher magazine, the support website & AP On-line, or the RISC OS scene) over the next few months
