Cerilica [4] have been busy with their next revision of the !Vantage vector package, the upgrade is free to existing customers and should be with us before the Wakefield show [5]!
There's an impressive list of new features that are rounding out the facilities nicely for those of us who are mere design mortals...
Some of the cool new features are deep alpha blending (cue more !Photodesk interoperability!), SVG and Photoshop™ file export and most importantly evolution of the transparency options which allow for improved textures and shading to enhance realism in your graphics.
!Vantage 1.10 addresses the need to encourage access from the occassional designer by providing facilities for soft definable drop shadows - something I'm looking forward to.
Along with a new series of interactive tutorials (in Vantages own interactive drawfile format) this provides a good series of 'everyday' useful enhancements that will mean it moves further into the indispensable zone on my icon bar.
