Q. How to transfer files from RISC OS to DOS / PC?

A. There are several ways to do this:

Floppy Disc - PCs can't read RISC OS floppies, but RISC OS can read, write and format DOS floppies. Just format a floppy disc on RISC OS using the ADFS:0 drive to either DOS 720k or DOS 1.44Mb (for High Density) and then copy your RISC OS file to the floppy disc.

Email...

Network...

Serial / Parallel Transfer software...

Anyone care to fill in the blanks above?

i've been able to swap using the switch with limited success. Sometimes the software did get confused when the drive appeared and disappeared.

I'm not sure what you want people to say. Yes, you can use all the methods outlined above to transfer files between different platforms. Specifically:

E-mail : Fine for small files, jusr uu/Base64 encode them and away you go

Network : Great for any file but requires outlay of cash and effort to install and maintain

Serial / Parallel transfer : OK but if you do enough transfering to make this reasonable you would probably be better off going down the network route. It is going to be faster and doesn't tie up a port which could usefully have a printer or modem attached to it.
