I would add Portland to the list. They are far from perfect but do offer a wide veriety of services including MySQL, PHP and CGI access.

The main problem with their service is that at the moment it is impossible to use a CGI script which needs to write to disc securely. I have been trying to persuade them to change the system so that scripts are run as the user who owns them (rather than 'nobody') but they have yet to reply.

I've an account without CGI support, so I use mycgiserver for the scipts.
They offer:

  • 5 Megs of space
  • no banners
  • PHP (although they claim they don't)
  • Java-servlets
  • and more...

It's ideal to put scripts on.
At registering they ask you a question, to confirm you know something about java.
