The time has come to get the definitive RISC OS Glossary moving...
- Heard a term that relates to RISC OS but you're not sure what it means?
- Used a RISC OS term and had to explain it to someone else?
- Invented a RISC OS term and want to give the definitive explanation?
Then submit your terms/comments/interpretations with this article and we'll see how far it grows.
Once there is harmony in the definition of a term, it will be added to a main glossary to enable new/potential users of RISC OS to immerse in the community quickly and easily.
Terms may relate to: operating system, hardware items, application software, etc. If you're not sure, post it for comments by others. Remember, the target audience is 'new/potential RISC OS users' so proposed term definitions should reflect this.
If you want to volunteer to co-ordinate a term definition or whole area, then please get in touch, you will need to keep a watch for your term(s) in the discussions, summarize and will need to be prepared to write the final text for the glossary for your area of respnsibility.
Finally, this is potentially a large project, however the more of us who contribute, the quicker the glossary will form and become useful to newer users trying to get a handle on a better way to do things in computing - RISC OS!
