With the RISC OS Roadshow looming fast (It's this week!), now is the time to get all those last minute Christmas software or hardware updates for your favourite OS. Mike Glover of Icon Technology has announced that the latest version of EasiWriter and Techwriter (8.50) will be released at the RISC OS Ltd. organised Christmas Roadshow.

This update includes improvements such as structure bars to assist with document structure manipulation and viewing, improved guides to make visible, Table cells, Figure Captions etc and also more features - see the Icon Technology web site.

Also, Mike has promised a free beta copy for use on the A9Home for users who upgrade to 8.50.


Walter Lo Nigro has updated !Sib2Draw, a comprehensive vector package which can be used along with all flavours of Sibelius to build music scores of any complexity. This has been converted to 32-Bit neutral and can be obtatned from http://www.wln.it/sib2draw.html


APDL have announced 5 new games compilations CDs added to the Fourth Dimension collection at 14.90 GBP with an extra 1GBP for postage outside the UK. The CDs have the following categories - Adventure, Maze, Platform, Puzzle, Shoot-Up.


The Really Small Software Company have announced a number of updates on their web site, including Sourcery, SampleEd, SQLite and ExprEval. Check out the site for further details.


Castle Technology have a small number of Canon IP4000 bubble jet printers available for sale. These have both a Parallel and USB connection, making them suitable for older and newer RISC OS machines. The printers are brand new and come with Parallel and USB cables, RISC OS Printer Driver and pop-up !Printers. John Williams (of Pic_Index fame), has released an MP3 Index Page Creator. This will trawl through directories of MP3 files, reading their ID information and creating an HTML index page of what it finds. This index page can be used as a launcher for the files on systems with suitable browser support and the HTML output is intended to be platform independent. ID3toHTML can be downloaded from John's website (click the link in this sentence).


Stuart Tyrrell Deveolpments / Advantage6 are offering a product which 'Blows Other Christmas Decorations away'. This stylish USB fan makes up for the lack of noise produced by the A9, but will work equally well with Unipod and other RISC OS USB support.


Spellings.net have released Geminus screen accelleration software for the Iyonix PC and it may be purchased / downloaded from their web site. Geminus is an ongoing development of a suite of graphical extensions to RISC OS 5, apparently there are 5 planned features, of which 3 are currently available.


Chris Bazley has released 'Yet another version of Star Fighter 3000'. Chris, who's the current maintainer of the game has provided numerous improvements in recent months and the latest one can be downloaded from http://starfighter.acornarcade.com.


Finally, shortly after we published details of Matthias Seifert's update to !SICK, he was able to quickly respond to user feedback from the RISC OS usenet groups and provide a further update to bring it to version 1.27.
