With the the Wakefield 2005 show now less than two weeks away (21st / 22nd May), Chris Hugues, Wakefield Show Organiser has sent us a news update.
This year there will be an opportunity to enter two different prize draws, one being run by WROCC
and another independent one by Wakefield Hospice.
WROCC Show Prize Draw
The WROCC Prize draw will have a variety of prizes to be won ranging from RISC OS 4.39 Adjust rom sets through 50 ukp vouchers to a grand prize from Advantage Six.
Advantage Six (the parent company of the well known Stuart Tyrrell Developments) are again providing this year's grand prize.
This year the grand prize from Advantage Six is unknown. All Advantage Six are willing to say so far is that it will be "winner's choice" from all of their (and STDs) current range, and that the full specification of each of the potential prizes will be posted on their stand during the show.
Adv6 have also confirmed that they would also refund a similar purchase made at the show should the winner decide that they don't want two machines.
Apparently Matt Edgar of Adv6 commented, "What's wrong with people, why wouldn't they want two machines? Space?"
To enter this prize draw, you need to fill in the prize draw entry form attached to the show ticket and hand it into the Wakefield RISCOS Computer Club stand (1). Their will be a draw each day.
Wakefield Hospice Raffle
The Second draw, being run by the Wakefield Hospice gives visitors the change to Win a Renault Clio Car!
For the humble cost of 1 ukp you have the chance to win a brand new Renault Clio first prize, 500 ukp 2nd prize or 250 ukp third prize. It is planned to have the Car on display outside the stadium. All proceeds from this raffle and additionally, money raised on the charity stall will go to the Wakefield Hospice. This raffle is being run by Wakefield Hospice and is not directly connected with the show.
Raffle tickets should be available from the Car stand outside, the club stand and/or the charity stall as well.
