Press Release: WROCC Announce their 10th Wakefield Show - 21st / 22nd May 2005

Saturday, January 01, 2005 - 01:30 AM, (5193 Reads)

Almost as though it were a Happy New Year wish to the RISC OS community, the Wakefield RISCOS Computer Club have today announced their annual computer show is again set for May this year.

This is the 10th year of the show and will hopefully be just as good if not better than those of recent years. Again the show is to be a 2 day event over the weekend of the 21st / 22nd of May.

Chris Hughes, Show Organiser sent the press release below: The Wakefield RISCOS Computer Club are pleased to be able to announce that the 10th Wakefield Show will take place over the weekend of 21/22 May 2005. This is the premier and only 2 day show in the RISC OS Calender.

This will be its 9th year at the now familiar venue of the Thornes Park Athletics Stadium in Wakefield.

Opening times will be:

Saturday 10 am till 5 pm
Sunday 10:30 am till 3:30 pm

Prices:

Advance Tickets £5 (available from mid March)

On the day £6
Under 6's FREE (MUST be accompanied by an Adult)

Members of WROCC - free entrance on the Sunday.

Please do note that a ticket will be valid for use on one day only (does not need to specified in advance!)

There will once again be a FREE mini-bus service operating between Wakefield Westgate station and the show mainly connecting with the London trains, and as necessary to connect with other services.

The Mini-Bus service is sponsored by APDL and 3QD(Virtual Acorn). Other show sponsors currently are M W Software and Stuart Tyrrell Developments/Advantage Six.

As usual there will be a show theatre, with a number of presentations on both Saturday and Sunday. Full details when the programme is confirmed.

We will be running our usual Charity Stall, once again raising money for Wakefield Hospice (www.wakefieldhospice.org). The show has raised over £12,000 for the hospice over the past 9 years.

More details on what we will be able to have on the charity stall, will be announced nearer the time, we are still hoping to be able to have some
second hand computers on the stand, and any not sold will go for recycling, but this will be confirmed closer to the event.

Other features of the show, will be:

Small Developer areas
Prize Draw
Free Car Parking
Caterering facilities (upstairs)

The new 2005 show website will be available in late January 2005, and will be updated as things develop.

Anyone interested in a stand at this years event can contact the organiser via email at:

show2005@wakefieldshow.org.uk

Show packs for regular exhibitors will be going out over the next few days.
