Requests: Wanted: Tool to record desktop activity as video file

Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 03:32 PM, (3659 Reads)

Does anyone know if there is a RISC OS utility which can record the desktop screens in realtime and save as a sprite file (with multiple frames) or as an animated gif or Replay file etc.

I would like to be able to record activity in the desktop and then replay as a movie or animation. I would need this to include mouse movement / pointer too.

If there is no such utility, does anyone fancy writing one?

I'm sure there's one on the RiscUser Nutshell (?) CD. i can't check because my perfect filing system isn't.
Last I heard APDL had updated copies of the CD.

You could try running the VNC server, and using one of the VNC recording programs (from the main VNC website). Having one that compresses would be rather useful, otherwise you'll end up with a huge file!
