Please note it in your diaries now!

This announcement has been delayed partly due to several organisers' work committments and the recent sad loss of Mike Wilson who was our publicity officer. Companies or shareware authors interested in taking space at the show should now contact the address below. As in previous years the show will be held at Thornes Park Athletics Stadium which has good motorway and rail links and ample car parking at the venue. We also hope to have a Mayoral opening, as in previous years, on the Saturday.

This year's attractions confirmed so far include:

  • games arcade sponsored by R-Comp Interactive;
  • show theatre for presentations on both days of the Show;
  • software demonstration area - demonstrations of Ovation Pro, leading RISC OS DTP program have already been arranged;

    other events will be announced as they are confirmed - check the RISC OS press throughout the next few months for details.

    There will also be a charity stall sponsored by the hosts the Wakefield RISCOS Computer Club.

    Plans are well underway for what will again be one of largest events in the RISC OS calendar.

    Great news to see this announcement, especially quashing the earlier incorrect rumours that the show was to be only one day this year.

    The Wakefield show always has its own particularly unique atmosphere that makes it a really fun event. With the planned date for wide availability of the RiscStation portable being so close to the show date, it should be even more exciting this year!

    It will be interesting to see if Castle and MicroDigital parallel RiscStation's launch with new releases of their own. Castle have already demonstrated the Neuron 100 working, but might soon bring out the release version of Oregano 2 as well; whereas MicroDigital are still working on the Omega.
