News: Riscstation portable almost with us

    Monday, January 07, 2002 - 01:24 PM, (3274 Reads)

For all those people eagerly awaiting the new Riscstation portable, it appears that there is not long to wait now. February is believed to be the time of release for a limited number of machines initially.

Riscstation have recently updated their website (after a very long period of inactivity).

Let's hope that this announcement is echoed at BETT this week and the the education market is given a chance to run RISC OS, out and about once more.

A report from the first day of the BETT show has just confirmed that the portable is indeed there, in its case, and working. Great news!

Well, at the weekend I finally placed the deposit for my own RiscStation laptop, at the last day of the BETT show.

It looks like I'm quite a long way down the queue though! :-/

Still, it's good to see the laptop getting such a positive reception, as well as being much more portable than originally expected.

I suspect I'll upgrade my order to include the car power adapter, longer life battery and docking station later on.
