Requests: My RISC OS returns to multi-lingual site

Saturday, December 29, 2001 - 03:11 AM, (1363 Reads)

Since we upgraded a couple of weeks back, the multi-lingual features of the site were temporarily disabled.

We're now back running multi-lingually so far with the following languages:

  • English (default)
  • Dutch
  • French
  • German
  • This means that articles can be submitted in the chosen language or be made available to 'all'. So when users visit the site, they will see the posts in their chosen language plus the posts made available to 'all'.

My RISC OS can be the premier multi-lingual web portal for RISC OS but it needs some work from those users who either speak / write in the non-English languages or are capable in a non-English language as their second tongue.

The translations, at present, may not be perfect and there are still some sections of the site that need switching to multi-lingual (eg. Main Menu), however my command of languages other than English is entirely suspect (some say English is suspect too ;) so I'm looking for volunteers to translate at least the Main Menu into the other languages. Let me know if you're able & interested.

Finally, if you are desperate for your own content in a language other than ones we support, then let me know and I'll see what can be done about it - no promises mind!
